The UT 710 designed ISLAND PATRIOT was delivered from Brevik Construction AS to Island Offshore VI, Ulsteinvik in January. The hull was built at Aker Braila in Romania.

The supply vessel is powered by two Bergen Diesel BRM-9 diesel engines each with an output of 3,975 kW at 750 revolutions per minute. The engines are coupled to Kamewa Ulstein propeller plants via reduction gearboxes of the same make, type 1500 AGSC-KP-1S. The vessel's maximum speed is 15.5 knots and economical speed 12.9 knots on a consumption of 17 tons fuel oil per day.

To optimize the manoeuvring capabilities the vessel is equipped with three Kamewa Ulstein 250 TV side thrusters of 590 kW each, two located fore and one aft.

Electrical energy is provided by two shaft generators from Scandinavian Electric Systems, each producing 1600 kVA, and two Caterpillar generator sets type 3406 TA. The CO2 fire-fighting system in the engine room is delivered by Unitor.

The cement tanks are from Rolls-Royce Marine AS, while the Fi-Fi-system is of Kværner Eureka make. The cranes are from ABAS Crane and Bergen Hydraulic (Palfinger).

The accommodation is arranged for 22 persons, and the interior work is performed by Maritime Montering AS. The electronic equipment from Basse Gundersen AS incorporates Raytheon Pathfinder ST MK2 radar, Atlas 9205 echo sounder, Tokimec magnetic compass, Ben Anthea log, Tokimec TG6000 gyro compass, Simrad AP9 MK3 auto pilot, Leica MX420 DGPS, Sailor 4000 MH/HF radio, Sailor RT 4722 VHF, Tron portable TR-20 VHFs, Motorola GP-340 UHF, Tron 40S emergency beacon, Sailor H2095C Satcom C and Nera Inmarsat F, Sailor UAIS 1900 and Alstom DP system.
