Hellesøy
Verft AS, Løfallstrand has built the new GARDAR for K. Halstensen AS, Austevoll,
and the trawler was handed over to the Owner in July. The vessel was designed
by Vik-Sandvik, and the price for the vessel was around NOK 170 million. The hull
was built in Romania, at the Navol Shipyard.
GARDAR
is built as a combined trawler/purse seiner/factory vessel and is the first one
with a stern fish pump bringing the fish directly from the trawl through a piping
arrangement at the port side of the vessel to the sorting machines forward on
the main deck and then to the RSW-tanks.
The
vessel is further equipped with a vision system from VMK Fish Machinery which
enables a faster entry of the fish into the filleting machines.
GARDAR
is powered by a Wärtsilä 12V32 diesel engine with an output of 5520
kW at 750 rpm driving a Wärtsilä Propulsion SCV 95-PT 116 reduction
gear to turn a CP100 propeller of the same make.
The
steering gear is of Tenfjord make, and two Brunvoll side thrusters improve the
manoeuvring capabilities of the vessel, one forward of 700 kW and the other located
aft of 883 kW. TwoCaterpillar generator sets type 2508BTA of 968 kW provides electrical
energy onboard.
The RSW system is supplied by York Refrigeration, and the fish factory and vacuum
discharge system are from Optimar.
The
electronic wheelhouse equipment incorporates alarm systems from York and Matre
and monitors from Hatteland. The installation work has been carried out by Vico
AS of Furuno FAR-2117 (3cm) radar, FR-2137S (10cm) radar, Furuno FCV-1200 echo
sounder, Furuno FSV-30 and CSH-84 sonars, Imagenex CS-400 catch sensor, Imagenex
TS-331A trawl sonar, Furuno CI-68G log, Simrad AP9 Mk III auto pilot, Furuno GP-90
GPS, Telchart 2120 chart plotter and C-Map charts.
The
communication equipment includes Sailor C04693B GMDSS A3 radio station, Tron 40S
and 45SX emergency beacon, Tron portable VHFs, Sailor 250 RT 4822 and RT 2048
VHFs, Furuno NX-500 navtex, Furuno SC-60 satellite heading sensor, Sailor Satcom
C and Mini M. Ship Equip supplied SeaTel antennas for radio-TV.
