The
PSV vessel VIKING NEREUS was delivered from Westcon AS, Ølensvåg
to Eidsurf AS, Bømlo in March. The vessel is of the VS 470 MK II design.
The hull was built at Western Shipyard.

Eidsurf
acquired the vessel about half a year earlier from Sira Offshore for around NOK
127 million. The vessel will be employed offshore the African coast.
The
vessel's main propulsion system is made up of two MaK 8M25 diesel engines which
develops 3,264 bhp each. The engines are coupled to two Scana Volda propellers
via two Scana Volda gearboxes. The machinery gives the vessel service speed of
about 14.5 knots.
VIKING
NEREUS is well equipped with side thrusters of Brunvoll make. The two forward
are of type AR-63-LNC-1650 and the two aft are of type FU-63-LTC-1550, all of
800 hp each.
Auxiliary
power onboard is supplied by two Caterpillar generator sets with motor type 3406
TA of 345 kW each, and two Leroy Somer shaft alternators mounted on the gearboxes.
The ventilation
and the air-condition systems are supplied by Aeron Miljøteknikk and installed
by Sunnvent. The tank sounding system is of Umas make.
The
vessel's bulk storage system is a delivery from Randaberg Sveiseindustri while
the deck machinery is supplied by Rauma Brattvaag. The deck crane comes from Hydramarine
AS.
The six liferafts
onboard are from Viking, and a Mako 655 MOB-boat with davit are provided by Norsafe.
The paint systems used are from Jotun.
The accommodation takes care of 32 persons. The integrated automation system is
provided by Aker Kværner Power and Automation Systems AS. Vico AS has handled
the installation work of the electronic bridge equipment onboard the vessel.
