In
October Aker Langsten AS, Tomrefjord delivered the third supply vessel this year
to Bourbon Ships AS, with Bourbon Offshore Norway AS as operator. BOURBON EMERALD
is of UT 745 E design, and the hull-building took place at Aker Tulcea (aft part)
and Vyborg (fore part).
The
construction does not quite follow the design as an extra deck has been added
to achieve more accommodation space. This means that the vessel has cabins for
50 persons.
BOURBON
EMERALD has diesel electric propulsion system with two Ulstein Aquamaster azipods
type AZP 120, each with an output of 2500 kW. The power station for the propulsion
machinery is made up of four Bergen Diesel C25 diesel engines each of 1740 kW
with four ABB generators producing 2070 kVA each. The vessel's speed is about
17 knots. The newbuilding is fitted with Kamewa Ulstein tunnel thruster and Ulstein
Aquamaster VROS.
Kværner
Eureka has supplied the Fi-Fi system, and TTS Marine delivered two cranes for
the vessel.
ABB
AS performed the electrical installation work, while O. Øverland AS installed
the electronic equipment including an alarm system for the engine room of Umas
V make. The DP-system was supplied by Kongsberg Maritime.
